Put your clothes back on, dears!

Put your clothes back on, dears! | Mail Online
Yes, I am afraid it is that special time of year again. The time when the good people of this country take on their favourite charity by taking off their clothes. The time for the rest of us to shop, to dig deep, to look though rose-tinted spectacles and choose the best nude charity calendars of 2012. And this year, there seem to be more calendars than ever before.
A part of you might want to scream ‘People of Britain, put your clothes back on!’ But no country on earth has taken to this naked act of charity more than the Brits.
That's probably true. As a percentage of the total population, we've probably seen more undraped Englishwomen than any other nationality. But although the extended headline begs Britons to stop losing their kit, the article itself presents a more friendly attitude. Ms Moir gives plenty of welcome attention to dozens of good people and their many worthy charities, which is really what it's all about.

Russian Calendar Girls

Russia’s Calendar Girls strip for charity — RTMost will associate the name Calendar Girls with the famous British play – later a hit movie – based on a true story. It revolves around a group of middle-aged women, “members of a very ordinary Yorkshire branch of the Women’s Institute, who spark a global phenomenon by persuading one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference.”
... It took the play’s Russian cast nearly a year to make up their minds to follow in their characters’ footsteps and create a feel-good calendar of their own.
... Money raised from the nude pictures will go to the Life charity to help drug and alcohol addicted people, and support those recently released from jail as they go through rehabilitation.
The news report doesn't give any hint how to buy one, and doing a Google search for "russian calendar girls"... well, it isn't helpful.

Ladies of 32744

Lake Helen grandmothers go from bake sales to pinup girls - Daytona Beach News JournalIf at first you don't succeed, take off some clothes.
That's what a group of grandmothers in Lake Helen did when their fundraising efforts fell flat.
It all started because women in town wanted to raise money to remodel the kitchen at American Legion Post 127, a popular gathering spot in Lake Helen for veterans. In the past, the ladies had held bake sales, but they found they were only netting a few hundred dollars. Remodeling expenses would likely be in the thousands.
...Donations can be mailed to PO Box 884 Lake Helen, FL 32744. More information about obtaining a calendar is available by calling Pat Chadwick at 386-228-3695.

If it isn't obvious, 32744 is the local zip code. Although the calendar doesn't have an official web site, it is possible to buy one from a vendor on eBay. See also Dave FM.

Hundred Acres Pub

Regulars strip off for charity calendar (From Bicester Advertiser)Fourteen volunteers, including a biker, a businessman and twins, all stripped off to show their support for [Oxford’s Churchill Hospital].
The pub owner's mother had just been treated there for lung cancer. The owner was among the women who posed. ("Mrs Barrett, 37, said: 'I couldn’t expect my staff to do it if I didn’t do it.') Her daughter (the patient's granddaughter, a photography student) took the pictures, and also appears in the calendar. There doesn't seem to be any way to buy one other than to stroll into the Hundred Acres Pub, or the nearby Shakespeare Pub.
