Firefighters take off shirts for a cause - Fort McMurray TodayThis isn't their first: There's a Facebook page for a previous year. Wish I could offer you a place to order it from: If there ever is a way, I expect they'll mention it here. Auctioning off their shirts is a great touch.
The 2012 Fort McMurray firefighters' calendar is almost hot off the press, and goes on sale Nov. 17, the date of the hotly anticipated annual signing night at Paddy McSwiggins.
After posing for the good cause, the 12 pin-up firefighters will be on hand to sign the fundraising calendars and "put their comments down, take phone numbers ...," laughed Fort McMurray firefighter/EMT Adam Bugden.
About halfway through the night, the lads will be auctioning off the shirts they're wearing for the signing. This year, 2,500 copies of the calendar are being sold for $20 each. The signing event gets underway at 9 p.m. Admission is a minimum $5 donation at the door.
Money raised from this event and other fundraising endeavours are earmarked for local charities such as the Fort McMurray Boys and Girls Club, Centre of Hope, Santa's Anonymous, Unity House and the Fort McMurray Food Bank.
